I caught a cold this past week, and I wasn't really feeling well on Wed. and Thu. It's a good thing I got my long run of 17+ miles in on Tuesday, otherwise I wouldn't have logged any mileage. I'm disappointed that I didn't hit my target of 33 miles, but rest and recovery were more important. That being said, today's Bridge to Bridge 12K went pretty well. After telling myself to go out and do no better than 12-minute miles for the race (~1:29 finish), I ended up covering the distance in 1:19:05, averaging ~10:36 per mile (5.65 mph avg.). There's just something about race day, having all those people around you, that gives you a boost. This is a much better race than the Bay to Breakers 12K, which is basically a big party of over 100,000 people.
Cruising towards the Presidio from Fort Point, with less than 2 miles to go...

I ran into Christine, Mary, & Ming after the race, and they invited me to join them for brunch at Ella's with their friends Lisa, Robert, & Michael. The food was pretty good, but we found the service to be a bit rude and inattentive.
